Academic Freedom Policy

The University fully upholds academic freedom as articulated in Section III of the MSU-IIT Faculty Handbook. It affirms the legal bases that protect the rights of teachers, researchers, and extension personnel to teach, publish, and pursue scholarly inquiry without undue restraint. At the same time, institutional governance retains the responsibility to ensure proper academic standards and administrative oversight. Faculty are expected to exercise academic freedom responsibly and to distinguish personal views from official university positions.
