MSU-IIT opens 57th Charter Week celebration

MSU-IIT constituents gathered at the University Gymnasium to celebrate the opening of the University’s 57th Charter Week celebration today, July 7, 2025, highlighting the spirit of compassion and community with the theme, “MSU-IIT: A University with a Heart for the Community.”
The Opening Program, which was organized by the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM), started with a flag raising ceremony, followed by the induction ceremony of the new deans appointed. The new deans took their public oath and displayed their full commitment to their new roles.

Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan inspired the crowd with his message, saying that the celebration of the 57th Charter Anniversary is built on the hard work of those who came before and the leaders who helped in the thriving of MSU-IIT as an institution. “And so this week, let us honor our past, celebrate our present, and look forward to a future filled with promise,” the Chancellor said, declaring the commencement of the celebration with the banging of the gong.
The awardees of the best dressed for ASEAN attires every first Monday of the month, starting in February, were also awarded and recognized on stage. Following that, the crowd participated in a line dance to be energized.
Prior to the Opening Program, this year’s Charter Celebration has already been kick-started with its lead-in Fun Run activity called, “IITakbo 2025: Racing Through 57 Years of Experience,” where 1,406 runners participated on July 6, 2025, showcasing the unity of MSU-IIT.
More activities are in line and prepared for everyone. The opening of the Tabo at the Multi-Purpose Hall starts today, July 7, as well. On July 8, there will be Friendship Games at the Gymnasium. The Alumni and Community Day and the Legal, Medical, and Optical Mission will follow on July 9. The most awaited 2025 PRAISE Awarding Ceremony will happen on July 10. Meanwhile, an Employee Wellness Day and Beauty and Wellness for IIT Employees will be organized on July 11. On the Charter Day, July 12, a City-Wide Motorcade, Zumba, and Socials will take place.
