MSU-IIT will be the venue for the NRCP- Funded Mindanao Regional Cluster Online Forum with a theme: Basic Sciences: Paving the Way for the
Sustainable Development of Mindanao. This is in celebration of the International Year of Basic Science for Sustainable Development (IYBSSD).

The forum will feature the presentations of Dr. Chosel Lawagon, an engineering faculty member from the University of Mindanao (Vice-chair, NRCP Mindanao Regional Cluster) who will talk about Basic Sciences and Solid Waste Management through Upcycling. Dr. Sulpecia Ponce, former Director of the Center for Multidisciplinary Studies of MSU-IIT, on the other hand, will also speak about The Role of Science and the Academe in Promoting Sustainable Development in Mindanao. There will be two discussants in this activity, one from the academe, Dr. Nimfa Bracamonte, and the other is from the City Natural Resources and Environment Office, Enp. Virgilio Encabo.

The forum will be held on March 16, 2023 at the fourth Floor of PRISM, MSU-IIT, from 8:30 AM to 12 noon using two modalities-- online via zoom and face-
to- face.
