Throughout June 2025, MSU-IIT’s College of Computer Studies and iDeya actively supported National ICT Month by hosting and participating in activities underscoring its role in shaping the country’s digital future.

One highlight was ByteBattle 2025, a spirited programming challenge that brought together student coders and technology enthusiasts to showcase their skills in logic, efficiency, and teamwork. The event was hosted by the Department of Computer Science through its Computer Science Students’ Society, funded by iDeya and LGU.

Guided by the theme “Walang Iwanan sa Digital Bayanihan,” the event tested participants through timed algorithmic tasks and problem-solving rounds. After overcoming a tough start, organizers adapted the challenges to keep teams motivated, ultimately fostering resilience and collaboration. Team Codebox emerged as the winner, with participants praising the competition’s ability to simulate real-world coding pressure and the importance of communication within a team.

In parallel with these student-focused engagements, MSU-IIT strengthened its role as a thought leader in digital transformation during Day 2 of the Executive Briefing for Digital Leaders 2025. In this event, Dr. Orven E. Llantos shared key insights on data governance, presenting a comprehensive framework for managing data integrity, accessibility, and security across enterprise systems. The session tackled practical approaches, best practices, and governance models that leaders can adopt to steer their organizations through a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Ending the month-long celebration, the Local Government Unit of Iligan City honored MSU-IIT with a plaque of appreciation, acknowledging its invaluable contribution and partnership in advancing DICT Month’s vision. The recognition highlighted MSU-IIT’s continuing commitment to fostering collaboration among the government, industry, and academia, empowering the next generation of digital professionals.
